DACB’s Head of Responsible Business, Lois Duguid, commented, “We are delighted to be supporting this important project to help address homelessness and encourage sustainable travel. The first Big Issue eBikes were rolled out in Bristol in early 2022, with plans to expand nationwide and to provide hundreds of green jobs to under-served communities.

As well as the goal of reducing traffic and cutting pollution in the UK, the Big Issue eBikes scheme will recruit unemployed people from local communities. They will receive retraining along with other support and services, and Big Issue Group has pledged to pay them a Living Wage.
