TBD Marketing unveils Top 100 Legal LinkedInfluencers for Q2 2024

The results are out! TBD Marketing’s LinkedIn quarterly report (Q2 2024) has been released, revealing the Top 100 Legal LinkedInfluencers.

To produce the report, TBD Marketing analysed data from the top 200 UK law firms, leading independent firms, and barristers, and identified the best-performing individuals between 1 April to 30 June 2024.

Blazing a trail and heading the Top 100 list from the top 200 UK firms rankings this quarter are Ilana Kattan (Hogan Lovells), who racked up an impressive 36,555 likes, and Mark Stephens CBE (Howard Kennedy) who received an incredible 4,897 comments. Jen Shipley (Irwin Mitchell) remains one of the most influential legal voices on LinkedIn,   producing three of the top six posts.   Emma-Jane Taylor-Moran (Rebel Law) leads the charge for the Indies and Andrew Hogan (Kings Chambers) tops the Barristers list.

The main list is dominated by large law firms with Hogan Lovells, DLA Piper, Clifford Chance and A&O Shearman all having five names in the top 100, demonstrating significant engagement and influence within the legal sector. However, Paul Sams (Dutton Gregory), Trevor Sterling (Moore Barlow) and Paul Jenkins (Ashurst) top the Leaders list, ably demonstrating that executing a clear strategy will harness results irrespective of the size of the firm.

Ilana Katten, Counsel at Hogan Lovells, said: “I’ve really enjoyed the feeling of community on LinkedIn – and getting to know people from all over the world. I’ve been impressed with how much togetherness you can feel online – even when oceans apart."

Simon Marshall, founder of TBD Marketing, commented: “We love producing our Legal LinkedInfluencers report, and it really seems to have captured people’s attention. Last quarter’s report achieved a staggering 1.5 million impressions. We’d love more independents to put themselves forward. It’s free to take part and we’ll rank anyone who works at an SRA-regulated UK law firm. Congrats to those who made the list - but we think that there’s a lot more to come from this group over the months ahead.”

Simon added: “The legal sector has become increasingly adept at using LinkedIn to share insights, engage with their community, and enhance their professional presence - boost their personal brands but also build trust and credibility for their firms.”

Simon concluded: “We can clearly see that those who actively engage on the platform are setting themselves and their firms apart from those who remain silent. That said, it’s never too late to start. Small steps can have significant effects. For instance, Emma Mack climbed from 199th to 9th place this quarter, and Paman Singh achieved a top 100 ranking with just one post!”
