White & Case increase its starting legal apprentice salary to GBP32K plus a GBP1k set up bonus, bringing first year earnings to GBP33K, the highest in the City.
Apprentices will then end up matching the firm's trainees first and second year salaries of GBP62,000 and GBP67,000 in their years five and six.
In the article by Legal Cheek, it's noted that other firms, including Mishcon de Reya and Linklaters offer starting salaries for apprentices of GBP28,000.
